Firecracker 02:54
Everybody's happy when they're young Playing in a cardboard box can be so much fun Everybody feels it until they're numb He said that's a fact Jack, cocaine, heroin, and rum But I ain't going to break your heart I ain't cliche like they are We can make waves in the river, dark Look into my eyes love I wanna see how beautiful you are Everybody likes you when you're hot Kind of deceiving got you believing that you're something you're not Cause when your young you're good you're golden your on top Turn around you're on the ground looking and it's all gone to pot So don't drink up all my money Honey don't brake my guitar Don't gamble on me honey Look into my eyes girl please, don't tell me you are Nobody likes to be alone only a dime to your name right down the drain of a pay phone Everybody's happy when they're young Playing with a firecracker can be so much fun

It's hot in the summer We in the creek and we in the shade Skipping stones with my family Ice cold lemonade Head in time for supper We cooking salmon, and white wine PJ's, we'll retire Singing until we fall asleep Drive north up to the city Where our heart of hearts live We uncover treasures From where we used to live Head back to the country Where I always saw myself Grey hair and an old rocking chair Laughing at my grandchildren When I get to heaven A lot of people I want to see When you get up to heaven I hope that you'll want to see me I'll be back in the corner With all my family and my friends And all the old cowboy hero's Picking my guitar for them.

The Garden 05:05
Oh, I said it and it started, ashes into bone Oh you can get it in the garden girl when you get home Oh how I love to see the sunlight running through the trees With the moss so soft it could cure what ales your feet And I'm the mud Muddy like the mud you can almost taste Muddy that is mud cause it's been getting rained on all day And I don't know if I'll find my way back home Maybe when I come clean Oh, how I let you get to me, let you get right in Oh and then you walk right through me places that I've never been I'm just one more giant trying to get to the top When your eyes get close you know then most of my heart just drops Cause your, green like the garden, green like an overgrown tree And I don't know when I'll find my way back home Cause I lost the boy in me. Oh the invention of a garden Oh the invention of a garden, God and green Oh the invention of a garden Starting right here with me The mud Muddy like the mud on a mud birthday cake Muddy like the mud that can take, and take, and take it And I don't know when I'll find my way back home Maybe when they bury me Oh the inventor of a garden Oh the inventor of a garden, guarding me Oh the inventor of a garden Inventor of a garden

Well it's a gift, you can have it, I don't want it back And just relax, you're not kidnapping, I said this kid is digging were he's at Baby you got a fire in your eyes Yeah, and it wont hide. And we can shake and rattle, we can tear it down Drive it on home with the cattle, it's getting nitty gritty now Baby I could be the number you dial Yeah, and crazy wild. Oh, it's only wild Only wild Oh, it's only right, it's only right And pretty baby you could keep stopping traffic, don't be what you ain't You don't have to stop laughing, 2 A.M., getting messy with the oil paint Baby you're not a thorn in my side Yeah, I mean you're just my type Oh, it's only wild, we're only wild Yeah, oh, oh we're only right We're only right Now

Anthem 03:30
Just because she gone Doesn't mean I've done wrong Well I'm tired of being blamed, don't you blame me Running the same game, it going to change, well it ain't going to stand Always acting like the victim With your sick games, when you go, when you run, what you tell your friends Well, I only really got, want something to say Why would you believe everything you hear It's no coincidence the consequence and being here Well it just ain't there and it ain't no fair No baby, no never coming back again Just because she gone Doesn't mean I've done wrong Singing, why, why would you believe everything you hear It's no coincidence the consequence and being hear Well it just there and it ain't no fair No baby, no never come back again

We could shut our eyes and get away If we could stop ourselves from wrestling around with a pillow From a beat up bed to a far out place If you like I'd be dead without ya Only want to live my life about ya Still can't seem to wrap my head around ya, butterfly in my bed But with this day gone and the next day new You got a million things you got to hold onto One thing fly and another one land And the yin and yang And it's all been said and done But I want you to know, I'm never going to let me down I can feel the window and the world go round And I saw it stumbling in the dark from the ground, yeah Had to get lost to get found Got to get lost to get found And I want you to know, I'm never going to let you down I could be the wind blowing and the crowd going wild And if you ever heard me once you got to hear me now, yeah Had to get lost to get found Got to get lost to get found

about

"Oh Hallie & The Big Blue Sky (The Prospect Sessions) was recorded on a Macbook in mid October 2012 in Fountain Square, Indianapolis Indiana.

I recorded it in my good friend and favorite musicians (Brandon Whyde) room overlooking Fountain Square on Prospect. The album was recorded within an 12 hr period. The album was recorded over coffee in the morning and bourbon in the afternoon. I just started recording without thinking about the order of the tracks and ended up keeping the album in it's original recorded order.

All of this album was recorded in one take, except for one or two times when I bumped the mic and it changed the quality too much to overlook. All other minor fowl ups, were overlooked as to not compromise the integrity of this raw album.

The few overdubs in the album were one takes too. I wanted to record a very organic and raw album of some of my latest material, an album with a cult following feel. You know, type of raw takes that people prefer over the produced ones.

It's basically me sitting down in front of a mic and going at it. Every once in a while, you can faintly hear the wood floor, creek in the background. We hung the mic over a ceiling fan and I payed standing up. Brandon helped with the recording process and appears on tracks 8 and 9. The idea to have him guest star and what songs he would be on were all decisions made in the moment.

This album is raw. It's extremely candid. It's real. It's a little like something you've never heard before. And it's diverse. Most of the album is strictly autobiographical poured through a creative filter of the question, "What would a modern day cowboy track sound like, done my way.

The plan is to sell this album, to help raise money for two, full length, full band, produced albums ; "Oh Hallie & The Big Blue Sky" and "Dear Main St." Some of the full band versions of these songs sound completely different, others are basically the same but more full. I left a few, more radio friendly tracks off this album, and have a few more to write. Then once we've raised enough money, I will split the songs up accordingly and finish the two albums. Until then, here are some sneak previews of songs in their original format.

This album is best played - On the way to work, driving anywhere, cooking, falling asleep, around a fire.

P.S. I love that I made this album. I think a lot of people are going to fall in love with it..... Tell your friends! Oh yeah, and turn me up!

Thanks for the support!
Cheers,
Landon
